Non-profit partnership National Urban Planners' Guild
The idea to create a professional union of urban planners appeared in February 2008 in Omsk (Russia) within the frameworks of All-Russia Scientific and Practical Seminar for urban planners. The adoption of Omskaya declaration is the result of the seminar. The document underlined the aim to create and develop a self- regulating organization (SRO) that consolidates Russian scientific, project and consulting organizations that deal with urban and spatial planning and urban development and other strategic tasks.
Founding meeting of Non-profit partnership National Urban Planners' Guild took place later in February 2008 in Saint-Petersburg. There were representatives of about 30 urban planning organizations and institutes of Russia. The incorporation documents were ratified, the administrative and control bodies were formed at the meeting.
The Guild mission:
- Consolidation of urban planners, providing high professionalism of all urban and spatial planning and development specialists
- Effective management of urban development in Russia, creating a background for sustainable development of all territories of Russia
- Provide a high quality of works executed by members of the Guild
- Increase the level of social responsibility of all the Guild members for their professional performance results
The Guild founders are "Lengiprogor" Institute" LLC (Saint-Petersburg), "ENKO" LLC (Saint-Petersburg) and Foundation "Center for Strategic Research "North-West" (Saint-Petersburg).
The main Guild body is the Guild Council. The Council elected Natalya Trunova, "Lengiprogor" Institute CEO, as the Guild's President in February 2017.
